Anu Ramesh is the Founder of the Curious Minds. She has a Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Diploma in Software Programming and Diploma in Montessori education. Anu started as an Associate teacher in the Children’s House at Abacus Montessori School in Chennai, India. Following her move to the suburbs of Boston, she joined Andover School of Montessori for a year as an Associate teacher in Children’s House, at Andover MA. She then worked as a Lead teacher for three years at Oak Meadow Montessori School at Littleton MA.
Mary is the Director of the Curious Minds and is also the lead teacher in the 3-6 classroom. Mary’s Montessori experience began as a “Montessori Mom” to her now teenage daughters. Her love for the Montessori approach led her to Casa dei Bambini Montessori School in East Amherst as the Lead Teacher in the full-day 3-6 Primary program. Prior to that she was the Associate Teacher in the 6-9 Lower Elementary Program at Lamplighter School in Cordova, Tennessee, the 9-12 Upper Elementary Program at Incarnate Word Academy in Corpus Christi, Texas and the technology instructor at Montessori Learning Center in Salinas, California. She received her 3-6 Primary diploma from the North American Montessori society.
Khaty Assar has a Bachelor degree in French Education. She started her career by teaching French language and Math in Middle School right after graduating from college. She has 6 years experience in teaching Elementary students and Toddler. She has strong ability in creating innovative teaching techniques to make learning more fun and challenging.Academic success of her boys made her even more determined in pursuing to work with toddlers. Khaty followed her passion for Montessori education and gained her certification in the Toddler Montessori program. She truly believes that objective of the toddler program is to assist children as they experience the basic human attributes of trust, separation, independence, and self-control. The focus is both on curriculum and materials, and on helping the toddler respond to the rapid and conflicting changes of this developmental age.
Emily studied Elementary Education and Music at Houghton College located in Houghton , NY . She then worked as a head preschool teacher in Williamsville , NY until 2001, when she took time off to start a family. She and her husband, Frank, have 3 children.She has been actively involved in her children’s elementary school as PTO Social Coordinator. Emily also continues to be involved in children’s ministries at her church, where she coordinates and teaches fun, reading, listening and music filled lessons.Emily Yang has an extreme passion for music. At a very young age she began vocal and music theory lessons. She has competed in many state level vocal competitions over the years placing in the top percentiles. She has continued her singing career by leading worship in various churches from 1993 to present day and in addition has 11 years of experience studying piano.
Rebecca was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She graduated from Medaille College with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and it was here that she had her first experience in the classroom. Working as an intern in pubic schools, Rebecca realized her passion for working with children, and only a few years later she began her Montessori training. Rebecca believes in the Montessori way and is excited to bring her creativity to the school. She will have her hands full this coming year, as she continues to plan her wedding to her High School sweetheart, but is looking forward to start learning and teaching at The Curious Minds
Miss. Julie has a Masters degree in Teaching. She has years of experience teaching ESL to high school and college students. While taking a break from her career to stay home with her three children, she became a certified children’s Yoga teacher and taught in preschools, elementary schools and studios. Eventually, she became a certified to teach Yoga to adults.She enjoys sharing her love for yoga, meditation and wellness with all especially children. At Curious Minds, Julie will be working in the 3-6 Primary program teacher assistant.
